Despite the pandemic and closed borders, but with all necessary and strict limitations and precautions, Perm hosts two well-known French visitors – choreographers Claude Brumachon et Benjamin Lamarche, who have been managing the National Choreography Center in Nantes for 25 years and created "Sous la peau” company in Dijon. One of the iconic performances staged by the duo in early 2021 was included into the Paris Opera repertoire. The choreographers focus not only on the dancing technicalities but also on socio-therapeutical role of dance and body expression. In France they work with both professional and amateur dancers, including those with disabilities and Down’s syndrome.
In Perm the duo is staging a performance in collaboration with “Eugene Panfilov’s Ballet” theatre, which is their second joint project – the first one, “The Wild Poppies” was produced in 2019.
“Dizziness” will open the new 35th theatrical season for Panfilov’s Ballet; on the Perm stage the producers will present the artistic universe of Toulouse-Lautrec whose work inspired visual set and the costumes. Collaboration of French choreographers and Perm theatre was made possible through the support of Institut français de Russie in Moscow and Alliance Française de Perm.
The performance will be released on September 9 and 10 2021 in “Triumph” private concert hall. For more information please visit balletpanfilov.ru.
